Hello everyone!! Today we are with you on our new topic, movie review.

In this task, we had to watch a movie in groups of 3 and comment on it. Since we couldn't find a group of 3, we had to make 4 people. Then we decided to review the movie Inception. We had to write 4 paragraphs about the movie. Each paragraph had a category and we had to write according to it. We shared it among our group friends Şeyma, Aslı and Beyza. After the paragraphs, we added frames from the movie, the movie's trailer and our blog links and shared our docs file as commenters to another group for them to give feedback. Our friends who gave us feedback were Meryem Hilal, Meryem Sena and Yasemin. They also wrote a review of the Japanese animation film called Grave of the Fireflies. I really liked their narration style and it made me excited to watch it. I will add the screenshot of their comment below and the screenshot of the comments we wrote to them. You can also reach our docs page from this link.

The image on the left is our commentary on the movie Grave of the Fireflies. The one on the right is the other group's commentary on us.

 Hello dear friend!!!

Today I will tell you about the How TO learn English words video that my friend Şeyma Güran and I prepared. First of all, I want to share why we chose this topic. Since the aim of our lesson is to teach with technology, we thought about how we can teach English to our students with the help of technology in the future. The most important element of learning English is knowing/memorizing words, so we shared vocabulary memorization/learning techniques in our video.

Our video had to be shorter than 2 minutes, so we could only touch on 2 techniques. The first of these was sticking the word on the object that Şeyma introduced, and the other was the vocabulary box that I introduced. We explained how to use these techniques in the video. You can access our video from here. To answer the question of how we prepared the video, we first shot our own parts with our phones' cameras, then combined the video and uploaded it to YouTube. It was very easy and enjoyable to make, and it was also a useful video that we can share with our students in the future.

See you in the next assigment!

Hello everyone again! How are you? I'm asking this specifically because we had a busy midterm week. If you're wondering about me, I'm doing my homework that I need to finish after a very busy week... Now that the "hi, how are you?" part is over, let me get to what I'm going to tell you.

This time our task was to prepare a podcast. I chose the individual topic of 'Improving the World'. What I had to do was: find an idea that would make the world a better place and prepare a 60-second podcast about it. The reason I chose this topic was because I had already thought about it. Among the solutions, I chose the one that was most suitable for our lesson: 'Separating waste with AI!

With the help of AI, a smart camera in the waste separation device will scan the waste and throw them into the correct waste bins. We will be able to use this device at school, at home, on the streets, and in workplaces. Thus, we will have a cleaner and greener world.

I got help from the varacoo website while preparing my podcast. You can access the podcast I made here. The website was very easy and convenient to use. The only thing I had trouble with while preparing was adjusting my speech. I got it done after a few repetitions, other than that it was very fun and easy to do. It was the most enjoyable homework assignment I have ever done. That's why I will make my students do this in the future. They will need to pay attention to both pronunciation and stresses, which will be a fun opportunity to improve their English.

Infographic

Hello everyone again!! Today I will talk to you about a homework assignment that I really enjoyed doing. If you are ready, turn up your brightness again and lean back.

Let me briefly tell you about my assignment; Infographic Creation Task: Ethical and Legal Issues in Technology Use. First of all, let's look at what infographic is together. An infographic is a visual representation of information, data, or knowledge designed to present complex information quickly and clearly. It combines text, images, and graphics to communicate a message or tell a story effectively. And I was required to create an informational infographic on ethical and legal issues related to effective technology use. My infographic topic is cyberbullying. The reason I chose this topic is that we are in the age of technology and most of us socialize in virtual environments and it is much easier to be bullied there. I prepared my homework with the help of PiktoChart. You can reach myassigment by clicking here.

I think it is a very suitable tool for preparing infographics and I found the template suitable for my topic very easily. I tried other tools but they were not as easy to prepare as PiktoChart. In general, it was fun and easy to prepare, but since it was my first time using this tool, it took me a while to get used to it. In addition, when I wanted to add visuals to strengthen my assignment, most of them were paid, so I could not add the visuals I wanted, and I even had a hard time finding visuals that were suitable for the subject.

When it comes to questions such as how can we use infographics in education and what are their benefits, I think infographics attract students' attention and make them more memorable because they are mostly visual, use less text and are in a poster style. It will be very useful to use it especially in foreign language classes. Since it will attract students' attention and they will not get bored, their interest in the lesson and the language will increase.

Be careful while surfing the web and take care of yourself see you soon!!

Hello dear teacher and teacher candidates!

Today's topic is 21st century learning. So what is 21st century learning? In short, it is the identification of many of our skills with technology. As you can appreciate, this combination is expected to have many benefits for language learning.

With technology, we can easily access the resources we want, and we can develop all our other skills. speaking, listening, reading, writing... and we can personalize these areas as we wish. The conclusion I have reached from the courses I have taken and my own statements is that we should definitely use technology in many areas of education, as well as in the field of language education.

Technology will make the courses more entertaining, provide active participation, and thus students will both learn the language and keep up with the times and learn technology. It is impossible to avoid technology today. At the same time, we should ABSOLUTELY improve both ourselves and our students by getting help from meaningless technology.

We must take advantage of this endless benefit of technology, keep up with the times, and encourage our students to do so. These are my ideas about the 21st century, what about yours?

I told you before that I don't like saying goodbye and that we will meet again. So hello to all of you again!!!

I'm continuing this exciting and educational adventure from where I left off. We'll be together on this platform for the first time, but I'm not new here ;))  After the 'Current Issues' course I took last semester, I will use my blog for the 'Instructional Technologies and Material Design in English Language' course this semester. I will prepare the technology topics that we will cover in our course in practice from my blog and share them on my blog. In this way, I will both reinforce the information I learned in a practical way and I will share with you what I learned and how I followed. Let's embark on this new adventure together! That's all I have to say for now, take care of yourselves, we will see each other soon!

I hate goodbyes so I'll say let's take a break. I left behind a very busy period with a lot of homework, and that's why I'm very relieved. I've been really stressed lately. But still, the homework I enjoyed doing the most was definitely my blog posts. In general, I am very pleased with the current issues course. Let's continue with the details

Current issues course was above my expectations. It was a course that I thought would be difficult, but on the contrary, it was very enjoyable, creative and developmental. If I had to mention the difficulties of the course, one of them was the short assignment deadlines. It was a busy year, we did a lot of homework from many courses. Another difficulty was that it was in a group format. It is difficult to find multi-person groups and distribute tasks.

The weakness of the course is that we cannot get full feedback. This situation occurred due to time constraints, and the lecturer tried to pay attention to this situation, but it was not enough for me in some assignments. Another weakness was that we did not have the opportunity to re-edit the assignment after feedback.

I think that if these negativities are improved, the full benefit will be obtained from the course. My advice to students who will take this course is to get along with their groups, divide the work well, and get ideas from the blogs of upperclassmen.

The contributions of the course to me are: I have no interest in technology. Thanks to this course, I broke my prejudice against technology. I have personally seen the benefits of technology and will definitely use it in my classes in the future.

That's all from me. We'll see you again next term. Until then, take care xoxo.

Hello and goodbye post :(  And we have come to the end ...
